We are back! Cinecult Magazine – Issue 2 is now available! And we analyze so many great movies! Our topic for this issue is “Dystopian Films”. We decided to explore this subject because we strongly believe that there are great movies which everyone needs to explore and also because they have strong messages which are so related with several of the issues our societies deal with nowadays.

To begin with, we discuss about “Brazil” and “Twelve Monkeys, two iconic dystopian films that Terry Gilliam directed. Moreover, we speak about body horror and its master, David Croneberg and we emphasize on his cult films “Videodrome” and “Existenz”.

Furthermore, we explore dystopia in animation films and we compare, not only in style but in approach in general, the Japanese cult classic “Akira” with the American blockbuster “WALL-E”. In addition to these, you will read our article about “Soylent Green” and “Children of Men”, two films which explicitly indicate that men’s actions are responsible for the destruction of our environment.

We discuss about so many films that we don’t want to spoil it more. 70 pages about great dystropian science-fiction, horror, animation, action films. Finally, just a quick hint for our horror fans. The last article is dedicated to you!
